The Emergency Room Trauma Course empowers health-care professionals with the latest emergency procedures and practices. In Pakistan, these courses play a crucial role in building the capacity of doctors, especially those working in hospitals in far-flung areas where there are many factors that influence the delivery of quality health care. Such training sessions help doctors and nurses provide quality health care and also train the staff who deal with the emergency cases. The course took place in Peshawar from 8 to 10 May. As many as 16 doctors and four nurses came from Lady Reading Hospital, Agency Headquarters Hospitals in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (recently integrated into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and Khyber Medical University Peshawar to attend the course.
