Germany’s R number rockets again – up to 2.88

Germany’s coronavirus R number has rocketed again, from 1.79 yesterday, to 2.88, official figures show.
The Robert Koch Institute for public health, which has been publishing the country’s coronavirus statistics, said the new figure is based on a four-day average.
It takes the rate of spread above the level needed to contain it over the longer term.
