Australia extends ban on people leaving country until December

A ban on Australians leaving the country because of the coronavirus pandemic has been extended until mid-December.
The “Human Biosecurity Emergency Period” has been in place since March and prevents Australian citizens or permanent residents from leaving the nation’s shores except for a government-granted extension, which must be approved beforehand.
Residents of other countries, offshore freights and boats, essential workers and government officials are excluded from the measure, which also prevents international cruise ships with 100 or more passengers from docking on the country’s ports.
