In June 2020, the ICRC launched the updated Commentary on the Third Geneva Convention, marking another milestone in the project to update the ICRC Commentaries on the four Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols.
The main aim of the updated Commentary is to serve as a tool for interpreting and applying the Convention to safeguard the humane treatment of prisoners of war in today’s armed conflicts.
Watch this video to learn more about the updated Commentary to the Third Geneva Convention, which governs the treatment of prisoners of war.
The Commentary is already available online.
Hard copies are expected soon. Pre-order your copy now via the publisher, Cambridge University Press.
