Thursday at AFCON: Mali aiming for top spot

Dates, kick-off times and host cities – here’s the full schedule for AFCON 2021.

The tournament, originally scheduled to be played in June and July 2021, is being held in Cameroon between January 9 and February 6 2022, with Sky Sports showing all 52 games live.

Twenty-four teams are taking part. The action kicked off with hosts Cameroon beating Burkina Faso in Yaounde, and will culminate in the final on February 6 at the same Olembe Stadium.

Highlights of the Africa Cup of Nations Group F match between Gambia and Mali

Group leaders Gambia face Tunisia, who are currently going through as one of the best third-placed teams with a total of three points.

Gambia and Mali are currently tied at the top of the group with identical records, meaning that Mali can steal top spot if they better Gambia’s result when they take on Mauritania, who are bottom of the standings with zero points.

The winner of Group F will face the runner-up from Group E, while the second-placed side from Group F will take on Guinea on Monday.
