Powerful images taken while Sky News special correspondent Alex Crawford and her colleagues travel across Ukraine reveal the suffering and heartbreak inflicted on the population.
Millions have been forced to abandon their homeland to escape the violence erupting in the wake of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
On Saturday, Sky News witnessed people attempting to flee Irpin, close to Kyiv, which is, like many cities across the country, the scene of utter carnage.

Earlier, Alex Crawford and her team met the medics patching up people wounded by bombs and bullets on the edge of the Ukrainian capital.
But defiant Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has vowed to never stop fighting as he warned Russia can only take Kyiv if it “razes it to the ground”.
