We’re pretty interested in what Ashton Kutcher is up to these days. He is, after all, the face of
Esquire’s first digital cover. So, we want to know what he’s doing (promoting his new rom-com with Reese Witherspoon), what he’s saying (his sincerest apologies to Harry Styles for not recognizing him at a karaoke party), what he’s wearing. Ah, yes, we’re absolutely taking notice of what Kutcher is wearing—and what he’s wearing is a damn cool pair of affordable and sustainable sneakers.
To a recent talkshow appearance and the New York screening for Your Place Or Mine, Kutcher wore appropriately suave looks, sure, but our focus was on the footwear: a pair of sleek, all-black sneakers. We see you, Ashton! They’re the Cariuma OCA Low Triple Black canvas shoes, and honestly, they’re pretty fuckin’ worth the hype.
When the man of the season can’t stop wearing the shoe of the season, you pay attention. Cariuma, a Brazilian-based, fair-wage brand, really enforces ethical aesthetics. Or aesthetic ethics. Whatever you want to call it—doing good in the name of the environment and the name of footwear.
The brand uses ethically sourced—but still premium!—materials to craft kicks that are eminently versatile and can just as easily be worn to the grocery store as, oh, I don’t know, a movie premiere. The rubber soles are durable and comfortable, and best of all, they don’t harm the trees in Brazil that provide them.
Basic without being boring, the OCA Low Triple Black canvas shoes are a wardrobe staple, whether you’re a classic cool-guy like Kutcher or just a dude who wants a really awesome pair of shoes for under $80. Good find, Kutcher. Good find.
