Boygenius stopped by BBC Radio 1 for a special cover of Shania Twain’s classic “You’re Still the One.” The trio’s rendition is pretty faithful, with Julien Baker even breaking out a mandolin to match the original 1997 version. Watch their take on the song below.
Both Boygenius and Shania Twain released albums this year. The trio shared their long-awaited debut full-length, The Record, while the country-pop artist returned for her sixth studio album, Queen of Me. Boygenius also went on to share a four-song EP of leftover tracks from those recording sessions, as well as a cover of Sinéad O’Connor’s song “The Parting Glass” as a charity benefit single.
While Boygenius were rehearsing for their Saturday Night Live performance last month, they learned they were nominated for seven Grammys, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year. It’s their first time ever being nominated at the Grammy Awards.
