The FIA has received Edge Move certification in recognition of its progress in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion across its workforce.
EDGE Certification is the leading global assessment methodology for workplace DEI. EDGE reviews equity policy and practice across gender, race, age, sexuality, and disability, to assess companies and provide recommendations for future improvements.
The EDGE Move certification is awarded to companies which demonstrate balanced gender representation across the talent pipeline, proactively manage gender pay equity, and foster an inclusive workplace culture for both men and women.
The FIA previously received EDGE Assess certification in 2021.
In their 2023 assessment, EDGE recognised the federation’s progress in developing policies and practices around flexible working, organisational culture, and recruitment and promotion. It noted the importance of these efforts in ensuring equitable career flows for both men and women.
EDGE assessors also highlighted the strength of the FIA’s framework around pay equity. The FIA recently reported on the results of an EDGE-compliant statistical analysis on the risk of unexplained gender pay gaps, and implemented policies and practices to ensure equitable pay.
Following the assessment, EDGE provided the FIA with recommendations on how they could improve these processes and policies further. The People and Culture team have now written an Action Plan which sets out a clear road map to improvement, alongside implementation milestones and resource requirements.
Sara Mariani, Sustainability and EDI Director at the FIA, said: “We are dedicated to ensuring that the FIA is a welcoming, inclusive, and positive place for everyone to work. Our organisation still has work to do, but this year’s certification represents a good baseline for our ongoing efforts.”
