Black Midi’s Geordie Greep Announces Tour and Debut Solo Album, Shares New Video: Watch

Black Midi are on hiatus while the rock group’s members focus on their solo work, and, today, frontman Geordie Greep has announced his first album. Greep’s debut is called The New Sound, and it comes out on October 4 via Rough Trade. Leading the 11-song release is “Holy, Holy,” which comes with a music video directed by Ethan & Tom. Below, watch Greep bust a move at a bowling alley in the new visual; scroll down for the British musician’s upcoming tour dates.

Greep recorded The New Sound in São Paulo, Brazil, and London, England. “With recording The New Sound, it was the first time I have had no one to answer to,” he said in a press statement. “And with every impulse I had, I was able to completely follow it through to its conclusion. Being in a band (Black Midi), we often have this ‘we can do everything’ feeling, but you are also kind of limited in that approach, and sometimes it’s good to do something else, to let go of things.”
