One person is dead and two have been wounded after a man went on a knife rampage in a Paris park, according to a French prosecutor.
The attacker was shot dead by police after the stabbing in Villejuif, in the south of the city.
Police union official Yves Lefebvre said officers had fired repeatedly because they feared the man was wearing an explosive belt and might blow himself up.
The people stabbed are in a serious condition in hospital, BFM-TV reported.

Vincent Jeanbrun, the mayor of nearby L’Hay-les-Roses area, told the French news channel that the attacker targeted people in the park before fleeing to a shopping centre.
Mr Jeanbrun said police then shot the man dead.
A witness, who gave only his surname as Dia, said the attacker appeared to select his victims at random.
