Double explosion in Stockholm causes damage and injures one

One person has been injured and buildings have been damaged in two explosions which happened minutes apart in Sweden’s capital.
Explosives were used but Swedish authorities have said the early morning blasts on Tuesday were not terror-related.

The explosions happened in the suburban areas of Stockholm about 500m apart and damaged balconies, windows, doors and inside several apartments.

Houses were evacuated, with about 50 people leaving their homes.
Police did not explicitly link Tuesday’s blasts to gangs but did not explain why terrorism was ruled out. The country has seen explosions and shootings linked to criminal gangs in recent years.

There was another explosion eight days ago in central Stockholm, which damaged some buildings and parked cars but did not injure anyone.

Dozens of buildings were evacuated that day as well.
