All the Celebrities at Sundance Are Cozy as Fuck. I Love It.

It is, at the time of this writing, 32 degrees Fahrenheit in Park City, Utah. That’s freezing. Like, exactly freezing. And while it’s no polar-vortex level temperature, it’s low enough on the thermometer to not only justify but encourage the busting-out of supremely cozy clothing. I’m talking parkas and scarves and knits and puffers—all the things that bring you warmth and comfort during the short, cold days of winter. But at Sundance 2020, more than anything, I’m talking about shearling, which seems to be just about everywhere.

I’ve explained before about the necessity of shooting your shot when it comes to Shearling Days, which are few and far between. And it makes sense that celebrities would see “Sundance” on their calendars and take out the coziest shit in their closets, stack it up, and throw it in their bags so they can make proper use of it in a properly cold and snowy locale. (Or, you know, that their stylists and assistants would do that.) Still, it feels like there’s more shearling than normal at Sundance this year, which I won’t be scientifically confirming, so we’re just going to run with this feeling, okay?

Why is this happening? Well, there’s a vein of thought that says when things are rough in the world at large, people tend to embrace creature comforts. Things are very rough, and a shearling coat is kind of like armor that’s also a take-anywhere security blanket. Win win. Check out the best ones—plus the rest of the celebrity street style on offer in Park City—right here.
