Kim Jong Un ‘seen in public’ for first time since rumours of ill health

Kim Jong Un has been seen in public for the first time since 1 1 April, according to North Korean state media.
According to KCNA, the North Korean leader attended the completion of a fertiliser plant in an area north of the capital Pyongyang.

It comes amid recent speculation about his health, which was sparked earlier this month when he missed the birth anniversary celebrations of the country’s founder Kim Sung Il.
The anniversary is a major holiday in North Korea, and Kim would usually mark the occasion by visiting the mausoleum where his grandfather lies in state.
The report of Kim’s first public appearance has not been independently verified.
