The evaluation showed that the Safer Access methodology helped strengthen the capacity for managing risks associated with armed violence. The methodology prepares professionals of essential public services to act when faced with a risk and/or a crisis involving armed violence, equipping them with the knowledge and criteria required for systematic decision making.
The limitations identified during the evaluation process make it impossible to draw inferences about causality for measuring the impact. The methodology used, however, allowed observing trends, and present hypotheses about the impact that can be tested in the future. Lastly, recommendations were presented to the program with the objective of indicating ways to improve the monitoring and evaluation of the program, as well as to optimize the implementation process to achieve more sustainability results in the long term.
