US singer Alicia Keys has played a surprise set on Sir Elton John’s piano at St Pancras International station in London.
Footage shows scores of people, many with their phones raised in the air to record the performance, gathered around the piano as the Grammy Award-winning artist sang and played the song Empire State Of Mind today.
There was a cheer from the crowd as she changed the song’s original line “now you’re in New York!” to “now you’re in London!”.
The 42-year-old singer also played her hits If I Ain’t Got You and No One, as well as her latest single Lifeline.
Social media users shared videos on X (formerly Twitter), of the surprise performance.
One wrote: “Imagine getting in a lift at @StPancrasInt and seeing @aliciakeys at the piano.”
“So @aliciakeys just rocked up at @StPancrasInt Train Station and played some of her biggest hits. Maddd.”

The singer played her set on a black Yamaha piano which was donated to St Pancras by Sir Elton John after he performed at the station in 2016.
Keys, originally from New York, appeared at the station after performing during the second night of Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball at London’s O2 Arena on Sunday.
Her arrival in the UK comes after a 20th anniversary edition of her album the Diary Of Alicia Keys was released earlier this month.
