Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit appeared on the Tuesday night episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert after playing Jimmy Kimmel Live! in October. On Colbert, the group performed “Cover Me Up,” a song from Isbell’s 2013 album, Southeastern. Check out a video below.
Isbell released a 10th anniversary edition of Southeastern at the end of September. He released a new album with the 400 Unit, Weathervanes, in June, which was followed by a North American tour. Outside of music, Isbell had a role in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, and a documentary on him, Jason Isbell: Running With Our Eyes Closed, premiered on HBO in April.
In late November, 400 Unit bassist Jimbo Hart announced his departure from the band, stating that he planned to “resolve some old-school traumas,” but confirming that he was “grateful for all the years.” Hart was a co-founding member of the band.
