The partner of a mother who was found dead alongside her four children in Paris has been arrested, according to local media.
The five bodies were found in a flat in Meaux, on the outskirts of Paris on the evening of Christmas Day.
Police were looking for the mother’s partner overnight after opening a murder investigation.
The 33-year-old man was arrested this morning in the small village of Sevran, French broadcaster BFM TV said.
BFM TV said it was a neighbour of the family who alerted the police after they became concerned for the welfare of the family on Sunday night.

The neighbour, who was friends with the late mother, told BFM she tried to call her several times.
She said she went to the victim’s apartment to find “blood on the front door handle and in front of the door.”
The children whose bodies were found were aged 10, seven, four and nine months, say BFM TV.
