The first wave of performers for the 2024 Grammy Awards have been announced. The list includes Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo, with more to follow as the event draws closer. All three artists are in the running for a handful of awards this year. Harry Styles, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Steve Lacy, Lizzo, Stevie Wonder, and Kacey Musgraves were among the artists who performed at the 2023 ceremony.
Eilish is up for six awards in total this year, primarily thanks to her soundtrack song “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie: Record of the Year, and Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Music Video, and Best Song Written for Visual Media. Last week, the track won her a Golden Globe for Best Original Song. Eilish is also in the running for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the Labrinth collaboration “Never Felt So Alone” at the Grammys.
Rodrigo similarly has six nominations this year: Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Guts; Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Vampire”; and Best Rock Song for “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl.”
Meanwhile, Dua Lipa just has two nods at the 2024 Grammys, for Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media for her Barbie contribution “Dance the Night.”
This year’s Grammy nominations saw Taylor Swift, SZA, Victoria Monét, and Phoebe Bridgers by way of Boygenius garner the most nods. Check out the full list of nominees and Pitchfork’s takeaways from it all.
