Harmony Korine’s new movie, Aggro Dr1ft, premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival. Korine and his multimedia design collective, Edglrd, have now shared a new trailer for the film ahead of a wider release. Watch the trailer, starring Spanish actor Jordi Mollà and Travis Scott, below.
A synopsis in a press release describes Aggro Dr1ft thusly: “Breaking away from the traditional parameters of cinema, Aggro Dr1ft explores the onslaught of digital ephemera and interrogates modern life through the vernacular of video games. Shot entirely through an infrared lens, the film follows a Miami Beach hitman as he embarks on the relentless pursuit of his next target.”
Aggro Dr1ft will screen at the Los Angeles strip club Crazy Girl on February 7 and 8. After that, according to a press release, “Edglrd will bring the Aggro Dr1ft viewing experience to unconventional venues across the country with additional music acts to be announced in the coming weeks.” Korine and the film’s composer, AraabMuzik, will perform at the screenings.
Harmony Korine appeared in Gucci Mane and Travis Scott’s “Last Time” video in 2016. He also did the artwork for Scott’s 2019 Jackboys compilation. More recently, Korine was among the directors to work with Scott on his musical anthology film Circus Maximus.
