Kacey Musgraves is having a big night. She and Zach Bryan won the award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2024 Grammys for “I Remember Everything” from Bryan’s self-titled album. Shortly afterwards, Musgraves teased new music in a commercial break during the main ceremony. In it, she’s riding a horse, laying in a field, and holding a guitar while an unreleased song plays and her website flashes across the screen. Following the link leads to pre-orders for an as-yet-untitled fifth LP. Her last album, Star-Crossed, came out back in 2021.
Though she hasn’t released an album in three years, Musgraves has been plenty busy with music anyway. She stopped by Sesame Street to sing about her favorite colors, covered Coldplay and Elvis Presley, and sang the 2023 Grammys’ in memoriam tribute. Musgraves was also on a collaboration streak recently, having teamed up with Fancy Hagood for “Blue Dream Baby,” Madi Diaz for “Don’t Do Me Good,” and more. Most recently, she covered “Three Little Birds” for the upcoming biopic Bob Marley: One Love.
