SZA has won Best Progressive R&B Album, for SOS, at the 2024 Grammy Awards. The singer and songwriter, who was nominated for a pack-leading nine Grammys this year, picked up the win over fellow nominees Janelle Monáe (The Age of Pleasure), Diddy (The Love Album: Off the Grid), 6lack (Since I Have a Lover), and Terrace Martin and James Fauntleroy (Nova).
SZA was nominated for a bevy of other accolades for SOS and its tracks: Album of the Year and Best Progressive R&B Album; Song of the Year and Best R&B Performance for “Kill Bill”; Best Melodic Rap Performance for “Low”; Best R&B Song for “Snooze”; and Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Love Language”. With Phoebe Bridgers—also up for a sweep this year—she got nominated for (and won) Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the SOS song “Ghost in the Machine.”
SZA won her first Grammy in 2022, sharing the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award with Doja Cat for “Kiss Me More.” Before that, she picked up a slate of nominations for Ctrl but lost out in each category.
