Sam Beam has announced his first Iron & Wine album since 2017’s Beast Epic. The new album, Light Verse, is led by the single “You Never Know.” Listen to the song, and see Iron & Wine’s upcoming tour dates, below.
Light Verse is out April 26 via Sub Pop. Beam produced the album, which has contributions from keyboardist Tyler Chester, bassist Sebastian Steinberg, guitarist David Garza, violinist Paul Cartwright, and percussionists Griffin Goldsmith, Beth Goodfellow, and Kyle Crane. In addition, Fiona Apple sings on “All in Good Time.”
Since Beast Epic, Sam Beam has released his Weed Garden EP and a collaboration with Calexico called Years to Burn. Also, in 2022, he teamed up with Finom’s Sima Cunningham and Macie Stewart for Lori, a four-song EP of Lori McKenna covers.
