André 3000 was interviewed on last night’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, answering probing, if sometimes playfully inane questions in the “Colbert Questionert” segment. In the hot seat, he was grilled on such topics as his favorite sandwich (fried balogna), the scariest animal (humans), his favorite smell (baby breath) and least favorite (cigarette smoke)—as well as his audition for the Fast & Furious franchise, a role that eventually went to Ludacris. They also strayed into tangents concerning, for instance, André 3000’s doomed childhood attempt to raise his very own ant farm. Watch it go down below.
The segment was presumably shot at the same time as André 3000’s recent Colbert appearance promoting New Blue Sun, in which he discussed his legacy and performed the very long song “That Night in Hawaii When I Turned Into a Panther and Started Making These Low Register Purring Tones That I Couldn’t Control … Sh¥t Was Wild.”
