Police in Amsterdam have cleared an area around a metro station in the centre of the city.
Explosive experts are investigating at the scene near the Rokin station.
Police from the Dutch capital posted about the cordon on social media website X but gave no further details about the reason for the investigation.
Rokin metro station is in the very centre of the city, close to the Dam square and the main shopping street.
It follows a hostage situation which ended with an arrest in the Netherlands on Saturday.
