In January, Open Mike Eagle and frequent collaborators Video Dave and Still Rift announced their new group Previous Industries. At the time, they shared the tracks “Showbiz” and “Braids,” and they’ve now announced their debut album: Service Merchandise comes out June 28 via Merge. Check out the trio’s new single, “Pliers,” and its animated music video, a shot-for-shot remake of Jaws’ “Show me the way to go home” scene directed by Video Dave, below.
A month after their record comes out, Previous Industries will bring their music to life live on the road. They’re embarking on a U.S. tour this summer, beginning on July 22 in Nashville, Tennessee, and lasting on through until October 5 in Los Angeles, California. Find their full list of tour dates below.
Service Merchandise follows Open Mike Eagle’s 2023 album, Another Triumph of Ghetto Engineering. Video Dave and Still Rift guested on the LP’s “The Grand Prize Game on the Bozo Show” and “WFLD 32.”
