Jessica Pratt has shared another new song from Here in the Pitch, her upcoming album that’s due out this Friday, May 3. In “The Last Year,” the record’s closing track, Pratt sings about having faith after a particularly heavy time. It follows her previously released singles “World on a String” and “Life Is.” Check out “The Last Year” below.
Here in the Pitch comes out May 3 via Mexican Summer. It’s the fourth full-length solo album of her career and follows 2019’s Quiet Signs. Pratt will be heading out on tour this summer in support of her album, including a special live set at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago this July. Opening select shows on her tour will be Joanna Sternberg.
Last year, Australian pop star Troye Sivan sampled Pratt’s “Back, Baby,” from her 2014 album, On Your Own Love Again, for his song “Can’t Go Back, Baby.” Pratt was surprised that Sivan was a fan and happily approved the use, telling Pitchfork, “‘Back, Baby’ was recorded to a cassette tape in a tiny bedroom 10 years ago, so it was really unexpected to get a request from him. Like everybody else, I find Troye to be irresistible.”
