Norwegian cyclist Andre Drege has died in an accident during the Tour of Austria.
The 25-year-old crashed after losing control while descending the Grossglockner, Austria’s highest mountain, the International Cycling Union (UCI) said.
“The UCI is devastated to learn of the death of professional cyclist Andre Drege at the Tour of Austria,” it said on X.
“Our thoughts are with his family, friends and teammates.”
Local police told Norwegian TV 2 the crash was an “accident” and it was investigating the cause.
