RSI “Panos Mylonas” Hosts Annual Road Safety Pit Stop

The Road Safety Institute (RSI) “Panos Mylonas”, in collaboration with Olympia Odos S.A., successfully organised the “Pit Stop for Road Safety” event for the fourth consecutive year. Held on June 14th, at the Motorists Service Station (MSS) of Megara, this initiative aimed to enhance driver awareness about the importance of vehicle maintenance and safety checks ahead of summer excursions.

During the event, staff and volunteers from RSI and Olympia Odos conducted brief inspections of key safety points on vehicles. They offered practical advice on safe travel practices, emphasising the critical role of preventive measures in ensuring road safety.

Participants learned firsthand the necessity of using seat belts for all passengers by trying out RSI’s belt sledge simulator, an experiential tool designed to highlight the effectiveness of seat belts in preventing injuries during accidents.

Additionally, specialised staff provided valuable information on the proper installation and use of baby and children’s car seats, ensuring that young passengers are secured safely. The event underscored the importance of vehicle health checks and proper maintenance to prevent breakdowns and accidents, particularly during the busy summer travel season.

The “Pit Stop for Road Safety” initiative garnered extensive media coverage, reflecting its significance and the positive feedback from participants. The event was supported by AVIN, TotalEnergies, BeSafe, and Flocafe.
