If you are a student you may already be aware that you can get Apple Music for half the usual price. But did you know that a student Apple Music subscription comes with Apple TV+ for free!
- Apple Music usually costs $10.99/£10.99, but students can get it for $5.99/£5.99 a month (for up to four years as long as you remain a student).
- Apple TV+ usually costs $8.99/£8.99 a month, but students who subscribe to Apple Music get it free.
Can students get Apple Music or Apple TV for free?
Before you subscribe you might like to take advantage of the free trials on offer, especially if you have recently purchased a new Apple product as you may qualify for a longer trial.
Apple Music: Anyone who hasn’t previously had a trial can get an Apple Music trial before their subscription starts. As standard, there is a one-month trial, but we often see two or three-month offers. However, you can get up to six months free if you have recently bought an eligible audio device. Qualifying devices include a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch, Mac, AirPods, HomePod or Beats headphones.
Get Apple Music free for six months if you purchase a qualifying Apple device:
Apple TV: A standard Apple TV trial is only for a week–unless you have just purchased a qualifying Apple device, in which case you can get three months Apple TV+ free. Read: How to get Apple TV+ free.

How to get the Apple Music and Apple TV+ student deal
Apple is bundling Apple TV+ for free with the Apple Music Student Deal, but showing that you qualify for the student deal isn’t completely straightforward.
You will need to verify your student status and prove that you’re enrolled at an eligible university or college to take advantage of the offer.
In the U.S. visit this page on Apple’s website to get the offer.
In the U.K. you need to go through the Unidays website to get the offer.
Follow the steps below:
- Open the Apple Music app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
- Click on Start your trial – but choose Student: tap where it says ‘Are you a University Student?’ and you’ll be directed to a verification system – if your college or university is eligible you’ll get the reduced subscription rate.
- Tap or click Verify Eligibility.
- U.K. students will be taken to the UNiDAYS website where they need to log on or create an account. U.S. users will verify their student status on Apple’s website.
- After you are verified you will be directed back to the Music app.
- Sign in to Music with your Apple ID.
- Add your payment information.
Near the end of each year that you have an Apple Music student subscription, you’ll see a message that asks you to verify your student status in the Apple Music app or iTunes.
You can cancel your subscription to Apple Music at any time.
