The Bug Signs to Relapse for New Album Machine, Shares Songs: Listen

The Bug has signed to Relapse for a new album, Machine—his first solo instrumental album without guest vocalists. The British producer born Kevin Richard Martin, who released the collaborative album Disconnect with KMRU in June, will release the new LP on June 4. The singles “Buried (Your Life is Short)” and “Bodied (Send For the Hearse)” lead the record—listen to those below.

Machine collates highlights from a series of EPs the Bug released in 2023 and 2024, experimenting with what he calls “floor weapons” to make a sound that is “ice cold and dystopian,” celebrating “atmospheric pressure, and the joy of full body assaults, via oversized sound systems in undersized club rooms.”
