FIA’s Innovation Challenge 2024 Finalists Showcase Projects at Major Regional Congress
Six leading Mobility Clubs were recognised as FIA Region III and IV Innovation Challenge finalists, as part of the federation’s annual American Congress this week.
The FIA Innovation Challenge was launched this year and strives to support the FIA’s continued efforts around knowledge sharing, collaboration and innovation by celebrating innovative business and marketing-related projects from across the FIA’s Member Clubs.
A global shortlist was created in July. Three projects were selected for each of the four FIA Mobility Region.
Projects from FIA Region III (North America and the Caribbean) and FIA Region IV (South and Central America) were showcased during the Congress. The topics were varied, with CAA North & East Ontario (CAA) presenting their novel membership offering, Alberta Motor Association (CAA) presenting ‘Hello Alberta’, a welcome programme for immigrants, the Jamaica Automobile Association (JAA) introducing their mobile application for easy fuel purchase, the Touring Y Automóvil Club de Colombia (ACC) showing their solution for improved urban mobility, Automóvil Club del Ecuador (ANETA) presenting their innovative approach to driver training, and Touring Y Automóvil Club del Perú (TACP) highlighting their online driving permit service.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem closed the session. He said: “We are pleased to recognise the FIA Region III and IV Innovation Challenge finalists, here at the FIA American Congress. It is inspiring to see the range of projects put forward, and to learn more about the new ways that Clubs are tackling value creation and innovation across South and Central America and the Caribbean.”
The winners will be announced in October and awarded in December during the FIA Annual General Assemblies week in Kigali, Rwanda.
