Big Thief are the producers of Dance of Love, a new album from the 83-year-old singer-songwriter Tucker Zimmerman. Leading the LP is “Burial at Sea,” which arrives with a video by Adrianne Lenker’s younger brother, Noah. Adrianne Lenker also sings backup on the track. Check it out below; scroll down for Zimmerman’s upcoming tour dates, including a performance as part of Pitchfork Music Festival London.
Big Thief served as Zimmerman’s backing band on Dance of Love. “It was an extreme honor to make a record with one of the greatest songwriters of all time,” they said in a press statement. “We believe in this music with all of our hearts, and we hope it brings you joy.”
Zimmerman, Californian-born artist now based in Belgium, released his first studio album, Ten Songs by Tucker Zimmerman, in 1969. He shared music steadily in the 1970s and early 1980s, but his musical output slowed as he focused on writing poetry and fiction. He returned to recording in the 21st century.
