Slowdive have released two new versions of their Everything Is Alive song “Kisses.” First, British producer Daniel Avery remixed the track. And, then, Grouper made “Kisses – Sky II,” which is billed as more of a reworking of the original. Listen to both new songs below.
In a press statement, Grouper’s Liz Harris said, “Making music was only an idea in my head when I first fell in love with Slowdive. What a strange dream all these years later to work with them. This track was such a lush pop hit to start, I just tried to boost and smear those gauzy highs and fields of dreamy texture, and [Rachel Goswell’s] ethereal vocals. Added a touch of tape, Wurlitzer, and space echo too. It was a pleasure to work on.”
Slowdive are on a bit of a break from the road, but they’ll play North American shows in November.
