The 37th edition of the European Traffic Education Contest (ETEC) took place in Paris, France this week.

Organised by FIA Region I, and hosted by FFVelo (Fédération Française de Cyclotourisme), the event aimed to educate children about traffic rules for safer cycling.

Children, aged between 10 and 12, had to carry out a series of written and practical tasks for the chance to be crowned ETEC winner.

The Latvian Automotive Club (LAMB, Latvia) claimed the win, over a field of 17 Member Clubs from 16 countries. Auto Moto Association of Serbia (AMSS, Serbia) took second, while Ustredni Automotoklub of the Czech Republic completed the podium in third place.

ETEC was first established in 1986. Since it was first created, the competition has focused on helping children to stay safe while cycling, and reduce the risk of road traffic accidents.
