CAMC Towcar of the Year 2025: Supporting Informed Decisions for Leisure Vehicle Owners

FIA Member Club the Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC) has revealed the winners of the Towcar of the Year 2025 Awards, designed to assist consumers in making informed decisions when choosing a suitable towing vehicle. The awards, known for their rigorous and professional testing procedures, serve as a valuable resource for over 1 million CAMC members and leisure vehicle owners across the UK.

This year’s competition showcased 33 top-class vehicles across a variety of categories, assessed at the UTAC Millbrook Proving Ground, a facility known for its wide range of driving environments.

Each vehicle was thoroughly inspected by CAMC’s scrutiny team before testing began. The “caravanability” tests assessed whether the vehicle could accommodate typical caravan accessories and measured key towing features such as towball height.

The judges assessed acceleration, braking, handling across a variety of conditions, including hill starts and high-speed performance, and practicality under real-world conditions. Electric and hybrid vehicles continued to feature strongly, reflecting ongoing trends in the automotive industry.

Nick Lomas, Director General of the Caravan and Motorhome Club, emphasised the importance of unbiased, professional evaluations: ““We would like to offer our sincere congratulations to all the worthy winners in the Caravan and Motorhome Club Towcar of the Year 2025 Awards. Our panel of independent judges were able to evaluate the entrants in order to provide professional, qualified and unbiased information to help everyone who plans to buy a towing vehicle. Leisure vehicle holidays continue to be hugely popular and here at the Caravan and Motorhome Club we know our 1m+ members eagerly await the results of these awards in order to help them make an informed decision and help them to find the perfect towcar for their needs.”
