An expanded reissue of Daniel Johnston’s first studio album, 1991’s Artistic Vice, has been announced. The new edition features a second LP’s worth of outtakes, rehearsals, and previously unreleased songs by the DIY folk icon and his Eye Band. One of those songs, “All Good Children Got to Die,” is out today. Listen below (via Spin).
Artistic Vice Collector’s Edition is out October 18 (via Eternal Yip Eye/Thirty Tigers). Johnston’s friend and collaborator Mark Kramer remastered the album and additional tracks.
Daniel Johnston died, in 2019, at the age of 58. Read “Remembering Daniel Johnston, the Godfather of Bedroom Pop” on the Pitch.
