Panda Bear has announced his first solo album since 2019. The new album, Sinister Grift, is out February 28 via Domino. Leading the Buoys follow-up is a Cindy Lee collaboration called “Defense.” Watch the new track’s video below.
Panda Bear recorded Sinister Grift at his own Estudio Campo in Lisbon, Portugal. He co-produced the album with his Animal Collective bandmate Deakin. An additional collaborator on the project is Spirit of the Beehive’s Rivka Ravede.
Panda Bear has some tour dates in Europe in December. Then, next year, he’ll play shows with Toro y Moi. See his full schedule below.
In between Buoys and Sinister Grift, Panda Bear made Reset with Sonic Boom. The musicians augmented the album with Reset in Dub and Reset Mariachi.
