The Formula 4 category at the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games is set to be one of the most exciting and hotly-contested events on the packed schedule of racing, and the winners are set to receive not only the coveted FIA Gold Medals, but also additional prizes to help boost their junior racing careers.
On the world-famous Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, 22 nations are fielding a Formula 4 driver to fight for victory, and the FIA is pleased to confirm that this year’s winner will, in addition to their podium-topping accolades, receive a voucher for €2,000 which can be redeemed when purchasing any Racing Force group driver equipment. Within the Racing Force Group are some of the world’s leading brands including OMP and Bell Helmets, and as junior drivers grow and progress, ensuring they regularly update their safety equipment is a crucial part of their development journey.
The F4 winner will certainly follow in famous footsteps, as the first two editions of the FIA Motorsport Games were both won by Italy, and most recently by Kimi Antonelli, who next year steps up to the pinnacle of motor sport as a Mercedes driver in the FIA Formula One World Championship.
This year’s competitors will race with the latest-spec Tatuus F4-T421, which is used in a variety of series around the world. To ensure a level playing field, the FIA has allocated cars to entrants in a blind draw. For more information on the F4 race at the FIA Motorsport Games click here.
While 22 drivers will be fighting on the real-world circuit for F4 honours, there is also an additional prize on offer for those piloting virtual F4 machines in the Esports category. With an increasing crossover between the virtual and real racetracks, the Gold Medallist in the F4 race this year will be given the chance to get behind the wheel of a real-world Formula 4 car in early 2025 organised by the Maffi Racing team which currently runs cars in the F4 Central European Zone and Italian Championships.
The Esports F4 contest is new for 2024, with both the new formula and the introduction of the iRacing platform acting to create a truly open contest. A total of 60 nations have signed up, with a host of new drivers eyeing success.
