Automobile and Touring Club of Nigeria (ATCN) – FIA Girls on Track – Nigeria Community
The Automobile and Touring Club of Nigeria (ACTN) is encouraging girls to get involved in motorsport, through the introduction of a national Girls on Track programme. The initiative offers opportunities to compete, learn and train alongside other school-age girls from across the country. Almost 100 girls took part in a Cluster event alongside the Ethiopian Motorsport association in November 2023. Their progress has been keenly followed by online audiences – event videos have received almost 100,000 views on Instagram and over 60,000 views on other social media platforms.
Automobile Club d’Italia (ACI) – Motorsport for People: INCLUSION-E
ACI is creating a new driving simulator, adapted for people with physical disabilities. The simulator, which is being developed through the INCLUSION-E project, will incorporate ergonomic and cutting-edge technologies to reduce barriers. The simulator has been promoted at inclusive events across Italy (including at race tracks) and alongside national associations for people with disabilities (e.g. Anfass Nazionale and FISH ETS) who support over +1,000 people with different forms of disabilities. ACI is also intending to use the simulator in a clinical research study focused on psychophysical reactions.
Automóvil Club Boliviano (ACB) – Ecoviaje Rutas de Impacto
The “Ecoviaje Rutas de Impacto” project envisions a new future for sustainable tourism – with small-scale trips designed to foster ecology, support cultural preservation and strengthen the regional economy. The initiative aims both to introduce tourists to new areas and communities, and to educate them about the importance of sustainability and cultural respect, ultimately changing the way tourism is viewed or imagined in these areas. Due to start in February 2025, the project is expected to have a significant impact on the communities where it operates.
Automóvil Club de Costa Rica (ACCR) – F1 in Schools Costa Rica
F1 in Schools challenges high school students to create their own F1 teams – encompassing everything from engineering a miniature F1 car, to marketing it, gathering sponsors, and racing on track. In the two years since the Club started the programme, it has seen participation increase from 26 teams (each including 6 students) to 132 teams from all over the country. The Costa Rica Programme is focused on low-income schools, and each team must include at least one girl.
Conferederação Brasileira de Automobilsmo (CBA) – Rally dos Sertões SAS – Health and Joy in Sertões
Sertões is a rally with a difference. The Americas’ biggest off-road competition aims to leave a positive legacy wherever they compete – whether that’s by promoting Brazilian gastronomy and art, or by helping to improve health and education near the race track. In recent years, Sertões introduced a Sertões Institute to support, organise and track the success of these initiatives.
Federação Portuguesa de Automobilismo e Karting (FPAK) – Ladies’ Cup
First created in 2024, the Ladies Cup aims to support women getting into motorsport, by improving access to competition, training and development opportunities. The first year of the programme offered four fully funded places, and the Club is aiming to expand the programme to support more drivers heading into 2025. The competition was created by FPAK in collaboration with CRM Motorsport, and forms part of the Caterham Motorsport Iberia races.
Georgian Automobile Sport Federation – Be the Next One
Ever wondered if you have what it takes to be a professional racing driver? Georgia Automobile Sport Federation’s ‘Be the Next One’ aims to find the country’s next great athlete, by opening up opportunities in grassroots karting. From an initial class of 600 athletes, the eight top performing boys and the best performing girl will receive a free pass to race in the Georgian Karting Championship.
Motor and Automobile Federation of Iran (MAFIR) – Safe and Easy Motorsport for Everyone
MAFIR’s Safe and Easy Motorsport for Everyone programme aims to help women and girls to get involved in motorsport, by providing access to comprehensive training programmes. These include safety training, first aid, sport nutrition, and general driving skills. Sessions are held at MAFIR’s International Academy.
Motorsport Ireland – Youth Marshals and Officials programme
Ever wondered what officials do? This project aimed to get more young people engaged with stewarding, marshalling and volunteering, by providing training for 12–18-year-olds. First launched in March 2024, the programme has trained 110 boys and girls so far. Participants gain insights into the skills and knowledge needed to run events, with support and oversight from their parents or caregivers.
Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) – Gender Equality
SAMF has been instrumental in promoting gender equality in motorsport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 2018. As part of these efforts, the Club launched the ‘Women in Motorsport’ programme, which aims to identify and nurture talented female drivers, engineers and officials, providing them with the necessary support and training to excel in their chosen motorsport discipline. The Club has also promoted opportunities for women within their workforce; today, over 40% of the SAMF officials and workforce are female.
Touring y Automóvil Club del Perú – Mujeres en Movimiento
This project educates women on how to repair and maintain their own vehicle, with training sessions focused on tires, measuring water levels, and checking engine temperature. The project has the potential to drive lasting change in road safety, building better roads for the future.
