Syria’s President Assad is in Moscow and has been granted asylum, confirms Russian state media

Syria’s ousted President Bashar al Assad has arrived in Moscow, Russian state media has confirmed.
Assad and members of his family arrived in the city, where they have been given asylum, on Sunday, a Kremlin source told the TASS news agency.

Assad left the Syrian capital of Damascus and gave orders for there to be a peaceful transfer of power, after an anti-regime uprising ended his 24-year rule.
