Will Wiesenfeld has announced his first proper Baths studio album since 2017’s Romaplasm. The new album, Gut, is out February 21 via Basement’s Basement. Leading the 11-track project is “Sea of Men,” which comes with a music video directed and edited by Wiesenfeld. Watch it below (via Paper).
Wiesenfeld began work on Gut before the pandemic, and he finished it in April 2022, according to a press release. “Gut is essentially me trying to make my feelings make sense by not initially psychoanalyzing them,” the musician said in a statement, “by instead just having feelings said and put on the table.”
Since Romaplasm, Wiesenfeld has released the 2020 Baths compilation Pop Music / False B-Sides II, multiple soundtrack albums for Netflix’s Bee and PuppyCat, and several Geotic albums, including this year’s The Anchorite.
