Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck settle divorce

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have settled their divorce.

Lopez filed documents on Monday to a Los Angeles Superior Court, asking for a judge to finalise the breakup – around a month after she first filed for divorce.

The documents show the pair settled the divorce through mediation, with neither having to pay the other alimony.

Lopez will also drop Affleck from her legal name once the divorce is finalised.

The superstar couple married in Las Vegas in July 2022, having rekindled their relationship almost 20 years after calling off their first engagement in the early 2000s.

Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, exactly two years after a much grander wedding they held a month after an initial ceremony in Nevada.

The couple said in court filings they had officially separated in April 2023.

Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, nicknamed Bennifer, were an immediate Hollywood power couple in the 2000s.

They caused a media frenzy when Affleck featured in the singer’s music video for the hit single, Jenny From The Block in 2002 and later appeared together in 2003 film Gigli and Jersey Girl the following year.

Rumours of a reunion started to swirl in 2021 when the pair, then both single, were photographed together. They confirmed they had rekindled their relationship later that year.

Reports they had split again started emerging last year, after Lopez promoted Netflix film Atlas without her then husband and later cancelled her This Is Me tour, saying she was “taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends”.

The couple have no children together.

Affleck divorced fellow actor Jennifer Garner, with whom he has three children, in 2018. Lopez has been married four times and has twins with singer Marc Anthony.
