The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser is coming back, later this winter, with a new album. This Side of the Island, the follow-up to 2020’s The Loves of Your Life, is out March 7 via Glassnote. Leithauser shared the title song last month, and, today, he’s released the new song “Knockin’ Heart.” Find its animated music video below.
Leithauser co-produced the new album with his wife, Anna Stumpf, and the National’s Aaron Dessner. In a press statement about the new single, Leithauser said:
Leithauser will support his new album with concerts in Los Angeles, London, Toronto, and Chicago. He’ll also, for the seventh time, play a residency at New York’s Café Carlyle. See his upcoming schedule below.
This Side of the Island is Leithauser’s first solo album since the Walkmen reunited in 2023. Prior to the reunion, the band had not played a real live show for a decade.
