Timothee Chalamet arrives at London film premiere on a Lime bike

Forget the limousine, actor Timothee Chalamet turned heads as he arrived at the UK premiere of Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown on a Lime bike.

The 29-year-old, who plays Dylan in the film, cycled down the red carpet wearing a blue, green and black patterned shirt and a black suit.

With flashing cameras around him, Chalamet propped the bike on its stand and appeared to take a picture of the electric bike on his phone – part of the process of completing the hire period through the app.

It is the star’s latest antic on the press tour, after he surprised fans with his knowledge of American football on ESPN and turned up to the Hollywood premiere holding a Beyblade – a toy popular in the early 2000s.

He also crashed his own lookalike contest in New York, surprised a marching band at the University Of Minnesota, and donned some of Dylan’s best-known looks for film events.

Timothee Chalamet crashes lookalike event

Directed by James Mangold, A Complete Unknown follows Dylan’s early days in the 1960s, culminating in his controversial performance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, after he had gone electric.

Speaking about performing all the film’s music live, Barbaro said: “The folk music scene is one of authenticity and rawness, and it’s not an overly polished music style.

“And so we just knew that it was the best thing for the film to perform live and sort of just embrace whatever came up in the moment, and I think it was the best thing for the film.”

The film is hotly anticipated to be nominated at this year’s Oscars, although Chalamet missed out on the Golden Globe for best actor at the awards at the beginning of the month.
