The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the Best Original Score nominees for the 2025 Oscars. In the running for a statuette are Daniel Blumberg’s The Brutalist, Volker Bertelmann’s Conclave, Clément Ducol and Camille’s Emilia Pérez, John Powell and Stephen Schwartz’s Wicked, and Kris Bowers’ The Wild Robot. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ Golden Globe–winning Challengers score was not nominated. The winner will be announced at the ceremony, on March 2, at Ovation Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The full shortlist, unveiled in December, featured 20 scores; among those other than Reznor and Ross not to make the cut were the National’s Bryce Dessner for Sing Sing, the Björk collaborator and Tri-Angle founder Robin Carolan’s Nosferatu score, Andrea Datzman for Inside Out 2, and Danny Elfman for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
