Charley Crockett Signs to Island and Announces New Album Lonesome Drifter

Last year, Charley Crockett released two albums—$10 Cowboy and Visions of Dallas—via his own Son of Davy label. The Texas-born country musician has now announced a new album that’ll get released via Island Records. The album, Lonesome Drifter, is out on March 14. The title song is out on Friday, January 31. Watch a trailer for Lonesome Drifter below. See Crockett’s upcoming tour dates below, too.

Crockett co-produced Lonesome Drifter with Shooter Jennings. They recorded the album over 10 days at Los Angeles’ Sunset Sound. “Shooter and I barely talked about it,” Crockett explained of the recording process. “I just brought all of my guys out, and the album made itself. It was live without a lot of overdubs. There were no inhibitions. I wasn’t being judged, and I didn’t feel self-conscious. Shooter knew how to cut loose and let this thing unfold.”
