The Weeknd Makes Surprise Performance at 2025 Grammys: Watch

To everyone’s surprise, the Weeknd showed up at the 2025 Grammys tonight (February 2), after years of boycotting the awards show. Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. introduced Abel Tesfaye, who performed “Cry for Me” from his new album Hurry Up Tomorrow. Playboi Carti appeared with Tesfaye on stage, as did countless dancers dressed in head-to-toe red. Check it out below.

Hurry Up Tomorrow is the final chapter in the Weeknd’s trilogy that began with 2020’s After Hours and the subsequent Dawn FM, from 2022. The new LP includes the singles “Timeless” and “São Paulo.” Guests on the record include Playboi Carti, Anitta, Lana Del Rey, Justice, Giorgio Moroder, Future, Florence and the Machine, and Travis Scott.
