The informal exchange, organised by M Sweden and KAK, brought together industry experts from finance, tech, logistics and transport to discuss how companies can play a crucial role in improving road safety. The session aimed to encourage stronger private sector engagement to make a meaningful impact on reducing road-related injuries and fatalities.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the FIA Road Safety Index by FIA Secretary General for Automobile Mobility Willem Groenewald and FIA Director of Road Safety and Global Advocacy Stefano Ammirati. The Index is a tool enabling organisations to measure their road safety footprint, identify areas for improvement, and ultimately reduce the risk of crashes involving their employees, contractors, and the communities they serve.
Following the presentation, the conversation focused on the role the Index can play in helping companies integrate their contribution to road safety into their ESG reporting.
FIA Secretary General for Automobile Mobility Willem Groenewald said, “Together with our Clubs, we were pleased to host this important exchange – particularly in Sweden, the birthplace of the Vision Zero initiative, where the commitment to safer roads is a key priority and a way of life.
The FIA Road Safety Index has the power to drive impact and effective change on a Global scale by engaging the private sector in taking proactive action.
As early adopters in the pivotal advancement in Road Safety measures, we look forward to seeing more Swedish companies join us in this vital effort.”
Chairman M Sweden Jan Sandberg said, “I have been working with road safety and road transports in different leading positions during my professional life. Based on that experience I can say that the FIA Road Safety Index is a perfect, modern system for companies to gain road safety and extra economic profit at the same time.”
KAK Board Member Anders Ydsted said,“The FIA Road Safety Index is a great tool to systematically evaluate and improve road safety. Therefore, it was both good and important to be able to organise a meeting at KAK for dialogue with forward-looking actors in Sweden.”
