RSI “Panos Mylonas” Launches Road Safety Training Programme for Hellenic Armed Forces

Members news

The programme aims to raise awareness and promote safer driving behaviours among military personnel. It combines theoretical instruction with experiential learning, using RSI’s simulators to demonstrate the real-world consequences of risky driving.

The training follows a modern, interactive approach, including:

  • Road Safety Education – Fundamental principles delivered through multimedia presentations.
  • Simulator Exercises – Hands-on experience with alco-goggles, a rollover car simulator, a crash simulator, and reaction tests, allowing participants to understand the impact of impaired or reckless driving.
  • Drink-Driving Awareness – An interactive ‘Sober vs Drunk Driving’ digital experience that shifts participants’ perceptions of drink-driving through a series of skill-based mini-games.

Previous RSI training sessions within the Armed Forces have been highly successful, with strong engagement and interest from conscripts.

The initiative, supported by Olympia Odos SA*, will be rolled out in 11 training centres and military academies across Greece over the coming months, reinforcing road safety awareness among young drivers.

*Olympia Odos SA is a Greek motorway connecting the Peloponnese with the rest of Greece and Europe.
