The programme aims to raise awareness and promote safer driving behaviours among military personnel. It combines theoretical instruction with experiential learning, using RSI’s simulators to demonstrate the real-world consequences of risky driving.
The training follows a modern, interactive approach, including:
- Road Safety Education – Fundamental principles delivered through multimedia presentations.
- Simulator Exercises – Hands-on experience with alco-goggles, a rollover car simulator, a crash simulator, and reaction tests, allowing participants to understand the impact of impaired or reckless driving.
- Drink-Driving Awareness – An interactive ‘Sober vs Drunk Driving’ digital experience that shifts participants’ perceptions of drink-driving through a series of skill-based mini-games.
Previous RSI training sessions within the Armed Forces have been highly successful, with strong engagement and interest from conscripts.
The initiative, supported by Olympia Odos SA*, will be rolled out in 11 training centres and military academies across Greece over the coming months, reinforcing road safety awareness among young drivers.
*Olympia Odos SA is a Greek motorway connecting the Peloponnese with the rest of Greece and Europe.
